Child Safety Policy

Vision, Values, and Aim

Our primary vision at Storytellers Australia is to provide a secure and nurturing environment where every child can grow and express themselves freely.

We value the safety, well-being, and dignity of every child and aim to cultivate spaces where they feel protected, heard, and empowered. Through our endeavours, we aspire to create not just storytellers, but confident, safe, and supported individuals.

Codes of Conduct and Disciplinary Measures

All members, volunteers, and staff associated with Storytellers Australia adhere to a strict code of conduct that includes guidelines for appropriate behaviour, communication, and interaction. This includes respecting boundaries, maintaining transparency in interactions, and avoiding any form of misconduct.

Any breaches in our code of conduct will be met with appropriate disciplinary measures, ensuring that the spirit of our workshops remains uncompromised.

Commitment to Training, Support, and Clear Communication

Storytellers Australia is deeply committed to regularly training our staff and volunteers in the best practices of child protection. Moreover, we pledge to support everyone of our community in upholding these standards, fostering a culture of vigilance and care.

Please note that there are staff at Storytellers Australia who are HLTAID012 Childcare First Aid trained. All staff hold a valid Working with Children Check. We conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and take measures to minimise risks to children. Safety measures may include secure access, supervision, first aid protocols, and emergency response plans. Clear channels of communication will be maintained at all times, ensuring that any concerns regarding child safety are addressed promptly and effectively.
